Os antioxidantes são um grupo de químicos que, quando presentes em pequenas quantidades em sistemas de polímeros, podem atrasar ou inibir o processo de oxidação dos polímeros, impedindo assim o seu envelhecimento e prolongando a sua vida útil. Os antioxidantes são amplamente utilizados em PE, PP, PS, poliamidas, poliformaldeído, resinas de ABS, PVC, borracha sintética e outros materiais poliméricos.
